The alto clef is between the treble and bass clef and its middle line is Middle C. This is what an alto clef and a Middle C written on it, look like:

Apart from simply naming the notes of the alto clef, an examination may require you to write out a simple melody from treble or bass clef into alto clef or vice versa.


For example - if you had to write this out in treble clef :
